Rooms

Each of the eleven bedrooms at The Old Deanery are unique in design and style.

Choose from a large four poster bedroom with plenty of space to relax and unwind, a superior room for just a touch more luxury, or simply a standard bedroom for somewhere to rest your head. All rooms have magnificent views of either the breath-taking cathedral, or our stunning garden.

We want you to think of us as a home away from home, and feel like you are being welcomed into a friends house, rather than a hotel. If you have any specific requirements, then we recommend contacting us either by phone or email so that we can offer advice on the best room for you.

All of our classically elegant rooms are equipped with modern amenities including Molton Brown toiletries, and coffee machines.

Please note that we have bedrooms on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors and we do not have a lift.

For the best rates, book direct – we add 15% on to our rates on all 3rd party sites.

We consider ourselves a restaurant with rooms, and for us that means that food is at the heart of all that we do.

We encourage all guests to dine with us when staying, however even if you do not sample our evening menu, we want to surprise and delight you at breakfast with our breakfast banquet. Including, but not limited to tasty treats such as home-made crumpets and/or pastries, to Yorkshire charcuterie, home cured fish, and delicious granola, followed by our culinary take on the English breakfast – home-made bites of bacon, sausage, black pudding, tomato, and egg yolk. Words do not do it justice; this breakfast has to be seen to be believed!

We are a dog friendly in the hotel bedrooms and in all public areas except for the restaurant.

Ripon is a very dog friendly city and many local businesses also welcome dogs. There are lovely walks around the city, including along the canal, or around Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, a UNESCO-listed abbey and water garden. We charge £15 per dog to facilitate extra cleaning of the rooms after departure, and we also have some rooms as exclusively not dog friendly for any guests with allergies.
